My style is influenced by 60s womenswear and by queer people and the media I consume. I think about movement and the silhouette when I choose an outfit.”

“Everything I‘m wearing is thrifted either in Helsinki or Berlin. The hat and the sunglasses were gifted to me by family. For me the most thrilling thing is finding unexpected combinations of second hand pieces from different decades and parts of the world. That way it never gets boring. It‘s a bit like mushroom hunting!”

“I’m wearing my old trusted pants from a few years ago I had since forgotten. The thrifted, worn-out Camel belt is fixed with a few ropes, on the verge of breaking. I borrowed the t-shirt from a friend who designed the logo. The shoes are also from a friend and the sunnies from my grandma. Colors and hues are important to me and the beauty of their combinations inspires me. Patterns and prints too.”

“I’m wearing a vintage slip skirt, two white tops, a lace scarf, an old camera bag with a golden fish pendant, and grey ballerinas – every piece is second hand. I love the juxtaposition of minimal vintage pieces and playful accessorizing. At the moment I’m most inspired by clean silhouettes, objects found in nature and exploring the use of discarded items.”

“I’m wearing my dad’s old sunnies and my mom’s scarf. The t-shirt that says: everything is your fault, I found in a book shop in Sweden. My dress and skirt are things I’ve borrowed from my friends. We have a sort of shared closet because we all find clothes and dressing up exciting but don’t want to buy more stuff. Seeing them style the clothes that I’m bored of in a new way or just getting to go through their closets is something that inspires me.”

“My style is heavily inspired by fairies, music, and my friends. My priority when building an outfit is establishing a ’fairy spirit’. Most if not all of my clothes are second hand, as is this outfit. I’ve found most of my staple gems from UFF. I recycle clothes as well, these fur-hand warmers used to be socks from Saiturinpörssi. My leg warmers are also from there and my shoes are from pahis.fi.“

“I’m wearing my mom’s old boots and Marlboro trench coat, she just found it at our summer cottage after 30 years and decided to pass it on to me. Jeans are from Kierrätyskeskus (Recycling Center) and the t-shirt is my roommate’s – I didn’t have any clean shirts left. The bag is my friend Leevi’s; they gave me the bag for the time being as they’re fixing my own at the moment.”

“I’m wearing this long scarf which a dear friend gave to me, it’s my favourite piece of clothing. I should someday wash it tho, it’s starting to get stanky. These big pants were a dream find, jacket a staple and I love a good sweater. Boots are falling apart but I guess so is everything. All thrifted, gifted or traded.”

“I’m wearing my partner’s ancient hoodie and a relative’s old leather jacket. The boots and skirt are from the street flea market. That’s where you find the best stuff in Helsinki. All my clothes are second-hand and often my friends’ old ones. I like to wear the clothes of my loved ones. Today I’m inspired by The Matrix (1999) and rain.“

Fingerless gloves I've knitted myself. I'm inspired by many things, e.g. skating, punk, Rölli, nature, and treasures found at flea markets.”

“I’m wearing some long loved pieces – everything is second-hand, passed down to me or self-made. I have worn all of these garments so much that I’ve had to make repairs over and over again. I love wearing the same pieces from year to year and seeing them change and grow with me. I think the alterations make the clothes feel like they’re mine. This is something that really inspires me – chance, the memories I attach to my clothing and the nostalgia that this brings me.”
